Next spec is a nice deep frost spec. This spec depends on your bursts with your frozen targets, deep freeze will keep them frozen and stun them therefor making them very vunerable, not to mention the buff on the Ice Barrier. Then deep fire. This is mainly with your blast wave dragons breath and flamestrike spell, although if your a good mage you would also use scorch and fireblast, when you have time fireball, although pyroblast could be instant so watch out for that buff, mention - Mages blast wave buffed with knockback use this to your very good advantage!. This spec very well could be used for pvp just no one has found a way yet, but i for one have. I will not blow my secret because o/w everyone else would copy it. How i specced this spec, is i made it so i had great survivability, as well as burst

Keep in mind these are only the 3 basics, i could make it much complicated if i knew WOTLK better and it was out longer. These are the 3 mainly known ones, if you can mix them together that would be awesome but TEST BEFORE YOU POST! Also just POM then rest fire doesn't look like a good spec for PVP in wotlk might be a PVE spec but thats about it. Even then pve fire would be better and pvp arcane or fire.

Dueling is relatively simple for a mage. Pretty much it's basic concepts although some classes are harder to face than others. Example a paladin (since no one knows how to play one) would be pretty easy to beat even in like 70 blues or 60 warfare epics. Except Feral druids that know how to play are ultimately one of the hardest to face. But i'll tell you how to kill them! Only the hardest spec of each class
How to kill - FERAL DRUIDS
1. If you don't want to use blink on pounce you might wanna just wait it out (has been done even with low gear) or you can ice block out. But then after that they can feral charge and bash which then you should use Ice block or Blink. This is a very skillful strategy to kill a mage. Of course it is highly difficult to do if you don't know how to play a feral druid.
2. Watch out for cyclone or any kind of healing USE COUNTERSPELL, deep freeze, slow, dragonsbreath, blast wave (knockback ftw)
3. Make sure they don't double team druids they are a pain in the ass....

How to Kill - Disc priest
1. Pretty basic don't let them heal COUNTERSPELL, deep freeze, slow, dragonsbreath, blast wave (knockback ftw).
2. Try getting your highest burts within the seconds. If you get that big burst and use counterspell while they heal, they are dead.. Although you actually don't need the "lucky burst" like a shammys old windfurry, i'd say it's not luck at all pretty common
3. Use ice block if you need to because of phsycic scream although mages can avoid that use blink when they get close to you.

How to kill - Resto shammy
Pretty much do a bit of damage till they start healing then use counterspell keep bursting and making it so they can't heal ez kill
there healing is a "nature" healing and thats what it counts as, so no earth shock therefor you can cast.

Requested- How to kill ret pally
1. Don't let them heal COUNTERSPELL, deep freeze, slow, dragonsbreath, blast wave (knockback ftw).
2. Do not let them get you locked, as in if they get close to you with a hammer of justice (no blink ice block or trinket up) your dead. The best way to do this is to polymorph at the beggining of the fight. If you can not do that Frost nova, they will blessing of freedom, you can easily spellsteal that, and most pally's don't cleanse therefor it's pretty much a win. DO NOT BLINK UNLESS THEY USE HAMMER OF JUSTICE! this is very important when dueling a pally. The six second stun will make you fall to the floor.
3. Use spells to make the paladin stay back. Ways to do this is to deep freeze, slow, dragons breath, cone of cold,and Blast wave. A way to use a combination is dragons breath and polymorph
4. Use your instant casts. Although when the paladin is frost nova'd and pretty much stuck use other spells not just ice lance - - Frostbolt will do your main amount of damage it helps alot! Also dragonsbreath scorch works very well!
