LF Good prot war guide.

Well I promised myself if I was ever to play wow again I'd make it very challenging . so I'm going to make a prot warrior here as my main.

Any good tips or guides on a prot warrior? Obviously I'm going to learn most of my stuff from experience and all, but a few things to get started would help

on the left side of this website untick all the boxes on that column
only leave: pvp awards, rep award, and crafted ticked. Click submit item options.
Then just copy its gear from the website to your char (set it up the way the site tells you)

1.) Start with charge (obvious).
2.) Switch to def. stance (obvious again).
3.) From here on its about the class you're going against.

MELE:
1.) Start with disarm.
2.) After disarm debuff is gone use shiled bash.
3.) Build rage.
4.) Concussive blow and drain all your rage with your "DPS circle."
5.) Now from here on its about what they're doing.
6.) Obvious use thunder clap and demo. shout/roar whatever it's called.
7.) Finish with building rage and switching to a 2H weapon for the max DPS. ONLY DO THIS WHEN THEY ARE BELOW 10% HEALTH!
8.) GG

CASTER:
1.) Spell reflect.
2.) Concussive blow.
3.) DPS circle.
4.) GG?
(Not to sure about casters as I've never PvP'd against one as prot.)

HEALER:
1.) Charge
2.) Rend
4.) Hamstring (so they dont run)
5.) Spell reflect they're harmful casts.
6.) Concussive blow.
7.) Build rage.
8.) DPS circle.
9.) GG?
(Not to sure about healers as I've only faced them a few times as prot.)

I know. I'm starting off in s1 pvp with s1 mace and shield so I can gimp myself to get better. but Bugs are always fun.

P.S. You forgot shield bash on casters/Healers.

I really don't recommend prot PvP, but it can still be fun o.o

A few tips:
DW'ing and using PvP gear can actually pull some damn good DPS. And since spell reflect doesn't work at all, I'd suggest duel wielding at pretty much all times against a caster. You'll lose shield slam, but having an OH weapon well help bring up your rage gen quiet a bit. And just pummel instead of shield bashing.

I'd say imp revenge is a very valuable PvP talent, especially on VCN. You get the proc on a rogue, pop on a 2h'er (Which won't trigger the GCD here ) then mortal strike him if you have the rage ( Since all warriors have it ) then go back to your sheild.

Use concussive blow wisely! It can be used to force a mage to blink, then you can intercept him. Or it can be used to lock out a healer: Pummel a heal -> Wait a bit, concussive blow -> Fall back, intercept -> Pummel again.

Heroic strike, yo. I always liked having imp heroic strike when I was prot, because laying down 9 rage heroic strikes are phatttt. It's a nice little damage boost if your rage bar gets high in PvP.

I'd use full tanking gear (If you're really set on down gearing yourself, t4) against another warrior or even a rogue. If it's a warrior, just tank him, slap on some devastates and I'd keep thunderclap up. Do NOT stun the warrior, unless he's at 20% or less. Just tank him, and watch his health slowly fade away while he gets frustrated trying to hit you.

Good luck, prot PvP becomes MUCH more viable with 3.0.2

Heroic strike has always been terrible in my eyes

If you got the rage to burn, I'd still recommend using it. Especially since bezerker rage is buggy, and if you're fighting melee, your rage bar's going to be full for the entire duration of it. It's no GCD and a free 176 damage. (Moar if it critz)
