Or Photoshop CS4 and CS3. I'm looking for guides that enchances pictures, effects, swirls, and other stuff.

There's no real way to teach that sort of stuff. It's mostly hands-on learning. The creator most likely used brushes downloaded from a Brush repository or DeviantArt and just used some layer styles and filters. Its not a complicated process, its just trial and error. Brushes are the key to most peoples sigs, that and fonts with layer styles.

Any guides on where to place the brushes then? In order for me to use it with Illustrator?
