Is your specialist even sure it is Mono? i can think of 2 other viruses that have the same symptoms as Mono, the Epstein-Barr virus and the cytomegalovirus. Don't worry they're both, just like mono, completely harmless. the only thing they don't have in common is they're treatment. The mono treatment woun't have any effect or could even agrivate the other virus.

It could even be nothing, a false positive to a mono test. Testing is 99% accurate, which means there are some people who test positive, who live with their own impending doom for months or years before finding out everything’s okay.
